First of all, we would like to show our deepest regret over the loss of people by the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake, offer our sincere condolence to their families, friends and colleagues, and express a word of solidarity to those who are suffering from the disaster.
The Robotics Task Force for Anti-Disaster (ROBOTAD) was established on March 31st, 2011. The ROBOTAD aims to exchange information on robotics and related technologies, to support those on-site setup and operation, and to publicize the technical activities, as our individual and voluntary activities. The Task Force consists of willing scientists, researchers and engineers from multiple different academic communities in relation to robotics and the others. The motivation is to facilitate the countermeasures of and the recovery from the disaster by employing robotics technologies to the stricken area by the earthquake and Tsunami, and the site of accidents of the Fukushima nuclear power plant. We exchange, share and publicize the information of anti-disaster robotics technology on this site, with a hope that the information be valuable and useful for everyone who works for the solidarity to recover from the disaster.
